Choosing the lighting for the ceiling

Choosing the lighting for the ceiling:

LED ceiling lights are installed in apartments, offices, shops, at work and even on the street on verandas and terraces. Such lamps are suitable for creating local and general lighting - and even for lighting facades. The lamps on the ceiling vary in the number of lamps, light flow, shape and size, power, purpose, protection class and many other factors. You can easily pick up fixtures for a large hall, cozy bedroom or even a parking/warehouse.

Methods for fixing ceiling lamps:

The way the lamp is installed depends on the type of ceiling and the design of the room. There are 3 ways to install LED lights:
1. Overhead ceiling lamps are installed on the ceiling. They don't need special recesses. There are models of different power and sizes, for large and small rooms.

2. Suspension mount on cables. They are selected for rooms with high ceilings. There are pendants in which you can adjust the length of the cord. They are installed on work surfaces: above a table or a dressing table, in the kitchen, above the bar. Devices that can change the angle of light are handy if you need to highlight different areas in the room.

3. Embedded ceiling lamps are installed flush with the surface or so that the ceiling slightly protrudes. They need special recesses. Most often, small ceiling lamps are built into the ceiling for additional lighting or zoning with light. Large models of built-in fixtures are useful for rooms with low ceilings, Armstrong-type ceilings, offices, and classrooms.

Lighting with ceiling lights:

The choice of lighting depends on the size of the room and your goals:

Directional lighting is installed when it is necessary to illuminate the reading place, desk, work surface in the kitchen. A powerful round ceiling lamp will be suitable for such purposes. It is good if it is on a flexible suspension: a beam of light can be directed so that you feel comfortable. Another function of such lighting is the placement of light accents. Light radiates decor in the interior.

The scattered light is necessary for general lighting in the room. For such purposes, they take a chandelier or a large ceiling lamp. To ensure that the lighting is uniform and does not irritate the eyes, choose light sources with matte shades.

The reflected light is used to illuminate individual areas and evenly illuminate space. To do this, the lamp is sent to the ceiling or the wall. Soft diffuse lighting is used as a general. The scheme is complemented by bright dots and directional light.

How to organize lighting in different rooms:

Each room in the house needs a separate lighting solution. Lamps are chosen based on the size of the room, temperature, and humidity functions that the lamps must perform.

The hallway and the hallway. Use an overhead or point ceiling lamp for bright and even lighting. In the corridor interferes with the hanging chandelier: it is easy to touch when dressing. If the corridor is long, install a few lamps. Take appliances with white daylight, temperature 4000 K. Such light is needed to see clothes or makeup in daylight before going outside.

Living room. It is a room for communication of guests, holidays and cozy family evenings in front of the TV. The living room is convenient to combine bright overall lighting with local lighting. They also install models with dimer to adjust the intensity of light. As a rule, a large chandelier or round ceiling lamps are located in the center and are supplemented by wall lamps where they are needed: above the table or next to the sofa.

Bedroom. This is a room for rest and sleep that does not need too bright light. The bedroom has small ceiling lamps with a warm yellow light at 3000 K. The main lighting is complemented by bedside lamps.

Kitchen. For the kitchen, they choose bright lighting of neutral temperature: 4000 or 4200 K. This light does not distort the color of objects and does not tire the eyes. Take devices that are resistant to high temperature and humidity so you can clean the detergent. Additional point lighting is installed above the work surfaces. If there is a dining table in the kitchen, it can be highlighted by light as a separate area.

Benefits of LED ceiling fixtures:

LED lamps are installed instead of incandescent lamps, halogen and gas discharge lamps in homes, offices, schools, hospitals, factories. The LED lighting is selected if necessary:

  • Saving energy. LEDs consume 5-8 times less electricity than halogens of similar brightness.
  • Use a safe light. During the work LEDs almost do not warm up. Plastic does not emit harmful substances, and diodes do not contain mercury. You don't need special conditions to dispose of such a lamp.
  • Choose the right temperature. If you need warm lighting, take diodes with a temperature of 3000 K. For study or work suitable lighting with a temperature of 4000-4200 K, which does not distort the paint. In the corridor, bathroom, backroom installed appliances with blue cold light: 6400 K.
  • Changing light bulbs less frequently. High-quality LEDs are designed for 25,000 hours of operation. They shine 3-5 times more than other types of lamps. With the right approach, diode ceiling lamps work without replacement and repair for up to 5 years.
